Frequently Asked questions

How to I join Global Campus?

Global Campus is an invite-only program. Please reach out to us at info@usglobaleducation.com

How does the curriculum work?

All the digital course content is approved by the University of California and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Students will take the course to complete the diploma in the desired period of time. Students can ask questions and communicate with their U.S. teachers by the system’s platform. Students will take final exams at local schools and will be proctored by their local teacher.

How are grades and transcripts issued?

When students complete each course to the satisfaction of the U.S. qualified teacher of record, they will be issued the grade and a complete transcript of all coursework done provided that all is to the satisfaction of the U.S school’s review.

How do students take exams?

There are quizzes, tests and exams during the course of each subject. Final exams must be taken and supervised by a proctor at the local school.

Who is the person that actually grades the student’s work?

All grades are given by the U.S teacher of record who have monitored and instructed the student for the duration of that course.  They answer students’ questions and provide feedback, and evaluate their overall progress.

When students have questions, what do they do and how long does it take for an answer?

Firstly, the local teacher in many cases can help students with immediate feedback or answers but if students need help beyond that, they can message the U.S. teacher through a secure email system and within 24 hours usually, an answer will be given.

Will the foreign student receive help in applying for a U.S. University?

Yes the U.S. high school counselor and Global Campus college counselor will walk the student through the application process. These counselors will also assist students in receiving Recommendation Letters from U.S. Teacher in Record and Administrators and choosing the best University for their individual needs and their career goals.

Does the foreign student ever have to go to the U.S. School?

Schools may require that students come to the U.S. campus for summer session(s) and for a final year of study. These experiences will help prepare the student for life in the American university setting.

What is the level of responsibility of local teachers and what are their qualifications?

While classroom teachers are not the teacher of record—the U.S. teacher filling that role—they are responsible for helping and supporting the local classroom. They are expected to provide any written materials needed by students, facilitate discussions and lead the educational process for the foreign student. They will ensure that the student is on task and working towards graduating within the time frame for that student.

Are participating students guaranteed to get a Diploma from this program?

All students are guaranteed that if they successfully complete the requirements of the partner U.S. school they will be awarded a completely valid U.S. School diploma.

What is the role of the local classroom?

After students have enrolled in a class, they will be guided in their instruction and learning of the system and content by the classroom teacher locally. This participation may take the form of discussion, activities, research and quizzes as will be determined by the U.S teacher.

Is training provided for local teachers?

When the program is being set up, hands-on training will be provided to classroom teachers to ensure that they are fully prepared to be involved in the learning process. These classroom teachers will be in communication with their U.S. Teacher in Record throughout the course of the program.

How does the Supplemental Software Work?

When students are enrolled, they are provided a login ID and a passcode. Once logged on, they can see the list of their courses and the assignments. They just click on that class and work on the assignment being tasked. They will watch videos; complete assignments; perform activities and submit all work to the U.S teacher of record for assessment and grading. Students can use the additional material to enrich their learning experience, provide study guides that they can refer to when preparing to take tests, review videos and slides that the teacher showed in class presentations and enhance their complete mastery of the subject matter.

How can schools partner with The Castleton Company?

Foreign Schools can partner with The Castleton Company by entering into an agreement to joining Global Campus and will also have educational liaison agreements with the U.S. sister school. By doing so, both schools will cooperate together and each will establish a truly International school.

What makes The Castleton Company different than others?

U.S. and foreign schools that partner with The Castleton Company in this program use both a virtual and “brick and mortar” approach.  Students receive the benefits of the latest multimedia technology and an opportunity to have this communicated in a traditional classroom setting. This approach really brings the material to life, engages the student and enables the student to feel in control of the pace and depth of the learning process. Opportunity is available to ask questions of the local foreign teacher to reinforce the learning. Much of this effort will be devoted to helping the foreign student engage in language-building activities across the curriculum.

How does this benefit the local school?

The participating local school can advertise itself as a true International school and will benefit from being able to demonstrate that its students earn a verified U.S. School Diploma. In addition, the local school can advertise that such students are accepted to top U.S. Universities. Future exchange of teachers between foreign and U.S schools will also benefit both schools culturally and educationally.
